the view from my cutting table
a sweet poem from Bruce and my Gal Sal keeping her eye on me
my beloved Full Gallop poster - autographed by Mary Louise Wilson!
full color, beneath Full Gallop
scissors & pins in jars & tins
A nice big mirror is essential to my design process - this one was a great Astoria trash pick
I've started to take over the hallway too
My view when I sit at my sewing machine - that's Navy Pier off in the distance and Lake Michigan beyond
The ancestors checking out what I'm up to.
That's my grandmother Alice, in the portrait hat (3rd from left) with her brothers & sisters, the Healeys. The handsome devil to her left is my grandfather, Frank Graziano. I have his nose, for sure (the Pope's nose, he liked to say), and his shy nature, but my mother always said my sense of style came from the Healeys. With several models and actors in the family, apparently they were considered at times both elegant & flamboyant. I love that my grandparents are smiling while everyone else looks so serious and a little skeptical - keeps me on my toes!
Thanks for stopping by!
